Annually the PNA seeks to recognize individuals who have had a positive impact on the Association or the nursing profession. We do this through 2 awards and 1 scholarship given out at our annual meeting during nurses week in May.

Our Scholarship
The Ida Z. Ferraro, RN, Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is given annually to a nursing student in an accredited associate, bachelor, or masters level program. Applicants must live in Ulster County.
If you would like to apply for this scholarship, please submit the following by May 3, 2025:
An essay of 300 words or less which includes why you should receive this scholarship, indication of financial need and your future plans
a letter of recommendation from an instructor, professor, or supervisor at your place of employment
Your most recent transcript of grades

Our Awards
The Eleanor Bennett Nurse of the Year Award honors a PNA member from Ulster County who has rendered distinguished service to the association and/or the profession of nursing over an extended period.
AND
The Honorary Recognition Award honors and agency or person(s) who has rendered distinguished service or valuable assistance to the association and/or the nursing profession.
